Secular Democrats of Texas

Statistics on Secular Americans

Secular Americans are a large and fast-growing voting bloc within the Democratic Party.

Secular Americans are one of the largest — and fastest-growing — constituencies in the Democratic Party.

According to the Pew Research Center, secular Americans currently represent more than 28% of the Democratic Party’s constituency, up from 19% in 2007. That is a nine-point increase in less than a decade.

This makes secular voters a powerful bloc within the party today, and they are projected to become more influential in the years to come. Americans who do not identify with any religious organization are the fastest-growing segment of the population.

A constituency this large deserves a real voice in the party’s platform, its candidates, and its priorities. That is why the Secular Democrats of Texas exist.
